BRISTOL GOLF CENTRE STEPS INTO THE FUTURE WITH INRANGE®

Bristol Golf Centre becomes the latest range in the UK to offer Inrange® technology

Bristol Golf Centre has joined an increasing number of driving ranges to install the industry’s leading ball-tracking system from Inrange® Golf.

As part of an extensive upgrade to its 32-bay facility, Inrange® will create the perfect environment for fun, stress-free entertainment for casual and beginner golfers, as well as technologically-aided practice sessions for more serious players.

Golfers have a choice of ways to play:

Single player – allows the golfer to hit and track shots on the touchscreen monitors with data from practice sessions being stored and accessed via the app. All 32 indoor bays are fitted with Inrange® tracking and touchscreen monitors with six multi-player bays having an additional gallery screen.

The Inrange® app – download and open the app on a mobile phone, select the bay and every shot hit will appear on the phone with the data captured and stored for post-session review.

Inrange+™ – a great fun experience for golfers and non-golfers as they compete across a wide range of multi-player gaming options.

Darren Fairchild, general manager of Bristol Golf Centre, commented “Our centre has a reputation for being one of the best golf centres in the south-west and we provide a warm welcome to all golfers, no matter what their skill level.

“Inrange technology brings with it an instant appeal for the progression-based golfer, but also adds a fun element to attract groups and families to come along and try golf for themselves in a relaxed, informal setting.”

The Inrange® system uses radar sensors placed in and around a driving range to create a series of interlocking radar fields. Once calibrated, they determine the origin of each ball (which bay it was hit from), and track its entire flight, no matter how long or short, in real time. The resulting data is relayed either to an in-bay touchscreen or via the cloud to the Inrange® app on the player’s mobile device.

Easily covering a range of 100 bays or more, the sensors can track dozens of balls hit simultaneously, each from a different origin, and provide detailed data on speed, trajectory, path, the landing point and more, to within a yard. Unlike competitor systems, they are unaffected by certain conditions such as darkness, rain, mist and audible noise.

The different modes enable individual players or groups to hit and track their shots on touchscreen monitors, using the app to see and store all their performance data from a practice session. In addition, Inrange+ is a multi-player experience which provides a whole new level of fun with interactive multi-player games for every skill level.
